SANParks has three EPWP opportunities for Semi-Skilled Environmental Monitors based at Agulhas National Park. Contracts run until 31 March 2026. Successful candidates report to the Section Ranger/Ranger Sergeant and will support daily conservation and monitoring operations in the park.

Minimum requirements
- Grade 12/NCV Level 4
- Fit for fieldwork; will undergo medical fitness exam
- Willing to work shifts/weekends/after hours
- Good communication; basic Health & Safety awareness
- No criminal record (SAPS check)
- Advantageous: Computer literacy; Basic Firefighting
- Preference: Ages 18-35
Key duties
- Assist with tools, vehicles, herbicides, stock, assets, and basic infrastructure care
- In-field admin: timesheets, H&S checklists, logbooks, reports
- Record resource management and ecological monitoring data
- Support fire management and fence integrity checks/clearing
- Invasive Alien Species clearing and restoration work
- Waste management reporting and programme support
- Community/environmental awareness activities
- Support other conservation tasks and ad-hoc duties as required
